Basic Sections
Sales Pipeline
The Sales Pipeline gives you a live view of your deal pipeline directly on the dashboard. It pulls data from any custom Section you configure - so whether you call them Leads, Deals, Jobs, or Opportunities, it reads from whatever you have set up.
The panel only appears once it has been configured in Settings > General. Until then, the dashboard shows no pipeline section.
What You'll See
Four summary cards show the health of your pipeline at a glance:
- Pipeline - the total value of all currently open deals (those in a status you've marked as Open). If no Deal Value field is configured, this card shows a count of open records instead.
- Won this month - revenue and deal count for everything moved to a Won status this calendar month. A ▲/▼ badge shows how that compares to the previous calendar month.
- Lost this month - deals moved to a Lost status this month, with the same comparison badge. The badge colours are inverted here: going up is bad.
- Win rate - the percentage of closed deals (Won + Lost combined) that were won, with a percentage-point comparison to last month.
Pipeline Funnel
Below the KPI cards, the Pipeline Funnel table shows every stage of your status picklist in display order. Each row shows:
- A colour dot matching the picklist option's colour
- The stage name
- The current number of records at that stage
- The conversion rate from the previous stage
The first stage always shows a dash for conversion - there's nothing above it to convert from. Conversions above 100% are possible and not an error: they happen when deals enter the pipeline mid-funnel, for example via a web form or import.
Setting It Up
Go to Settings, then General, and scroll to the Sales Pipeline section.
You'll need to configure:
- Section - the custom Section that holds your pipeline records (e.g. Leads, Deals)
- Status field - the picklist entity that represents the pipeline stage (e.g. a "Status" or "Stage" field)
- Deal Value field - optional. A currency or number field that holds the deal value (e.g. Invoice Total). Leave this blank if you only want record counts, not monetary totals.
- Open statuses - select the picklist options that mean a deal is active and in progress
- Won statuses - select the options that mean a deal has been closed successfully
- Lost statuses - select the options that mean a deal has been closed without a win
- Currency symbol - the symbol shown before monetary values (£, $, €, or any string you like)
Any picklist options you don't assign to Open, Won, or Lost will still appear in the Funnel table - they just won't count toward the KPI cards.
Tip: Use a
Currencytype field for your Deal Value if you want ORCA to display values with the correct symbol and two decimal places throughout the app. See Creating Templates for details on field types.
